~I personally really enjoyed this book, and I don't usually like to read. I have only ever found 5 books that I loved and could finish all the way through. This book grabbed my attention just by the cover, most books have very detailed and Jurassic covers, but The Perks of Being a Wallflower had a simple cover. This simple cover drew my attention because it is not something I am used to seeing and I wanted to know what was on the inside. I read the first couple of pages and did not think I would like it but I thought to myself, don't judge a book by its cover so I was thinking just because the cover is not very entertaining does not mean that the book its self would be too. I think the perspective this story is being told in, is very interesting, and easy to relate to because so much is happening. I myself could relate to the story in many different ways. Being able to relate to the story helped me understand it better because when something happened that I could relate to, I just thought of the time I could relate the story to and connected them. I personally love quotes a lot and in this story, there are very many that are inspirational and that caught my attention. For example, “There's nothing like deep breaths after laughing that hard. Nothing in the world like a sore stomach for the right reasons.”, “So, I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.”, “Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn't stop for anybody.”, “And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.”, and “I don't know how much longer I can keep going without a friend. I used to be able to do it very easily, but that was before I knew what having a friend was like.” ( Good Reads ). These quotes all mean something to me because I can relate to them and they get me thinking. I would suggest, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, to anyone who loves a sappy but entertaining story, it took me by surprise but I really enjoyed it. ~
